This concrete finish is called Exposed Aggregate. This is a technique where the stones which are added special into the concrete mix, is then floated to the top, while still leaving the surface nice and flat. Once set to a certain point the top is then washed off, washing off the very thin layer off concrete to "expose" the added stones under neath. This finish is truly beautiful and elegant. When done correctly, as it takes a concrete professional with vast experience with this particular finish, you will be very pleased with the outcome.
We offer the choice of Pea Stone or Native Stone. Both are pictured above in our slider. The curved sidewalk with fire pit is native stone. Which is a slightly bigger, smooth stone with nice color variation. It is smooth and comfortable for bare feet. Pea stone offers nice color variation as well just with a smaller stone.
